How do in-widget announcements work?

Announcements appear inside your chat widget in one of three formats: a banner, a release note, or a news item. You write the message, pick an optional call-to-action link, choose the format, and publish. No code changes, no deploy.

Each announcement moves through a draft, scheduled, published, and archived lifecycle, with optional start and end dates so launches go live on time and expire on their own. Audience targeting lets you show an announcement to everyone, to visitors only, or to identified customers only.

What are engagement guides?

Engagement guides are in-widget flows that walk users through your product. HelpYap supports five kinds: onboarding checklists, multi-step product tours, tooltips, modals, and push prompts.

You assemble each guide in a step builder: give every step a title, body, and optional action, then reorder as needed. Push prompts are intentionally single-step, so they stay a nudge rather than a lecture. Completion is tracked per guide, so you can see which flows actually get finished.

How do email campaigns work, and what do they cost?

Email campaigns cost $2 per 1,000 attempted recipients, metered separately from your AI usage. There is no per-contact fee and no email add-on tier: you pay for what you send.

You write a subject, preview text, and body, then target either all customers or active customers. The dashboard estimates your recipient count and cost before you send, and after sending it reports delivery health: delivered rate, delivered count, and failures, per campaign and in aggregate.

How do feedback micro-surveys work?

Micro-surveys are a lightweight banner that asks visitors one question on your site. They ship as their own one-line script tag, separate from the chat widget, so you can run surveys on pages where you do not run chat.

Writing the question is optional: click AI generate and HelpYap drafts survey questions for you, then pick one or edit it. You control which pages the survey appears on, how long it waits before showing, where it sits on screen, and a cooldown in days so the same visitor is not asked twice in a row.
