help center + roadmap
A hosted help center
and a public roadmap.
Publish articles once and they work three times: as a searchable hosted help center, as grounding for the AI agent's cited answers, and as suggestions inside the chat widget. A public roadmap with email voting closes the loop on feature requests.
Help center and roadmap are hosted for you. Custom domains available on Business.

Let customers vote on what you build
The public roadmap collects feature requests, lets customers vote by email, and shows what is under review, planned, in progress, or shipped. Submissions go through your review before anything publishes.
- One vote per email, no accounts needed
- Five statuses from under review to shipped
- Requests sorted by votes, filtered by status

The same articles answer inside the widget
Publish an article once and it deflects three ways: in help center search, as live suggestions while customers type in the widget, and as the grounding behind the AI agent's cited answers.
- Suggestions appear from three characters typed
- Content updates go live within 60 seconds
- Every article doubles as AI knowledge

Getting started
What is a hosted help center?
A hosted help center is a documentation site HelpYap runs for you at helpyap.com/help/your-slug, so there is nothing to build or deploy. You write articles in the dashboard, organize them into collections, and they are live on a public, searchable site.
Articles show verified source dates, so customers and search engines can see how fresh each answer is.
How does help center search work?
The help center has full-text search across your published articles and collections, right on the public page. Customers type a question and get ranked article results without opening a chat.
The same search is embedded in the chat widget's home screen, so visitors can self-serve from inside the messenger before starting a conversation.

- Collections for organizing by topic
- Verified source dates on articles
- The same search inside the chat widget
How do help articles improve AI answers?
Your help center content is part of the knowledge the AI agent answers from, so writing one good article improves both self-serve and AI support at once. The agent cites the sources behind each reply, and help articles are among the sources it can cite.
Inside the widget, relevant articles surface as suggestions, deflecting questions the documentation already answers.
How does the public roadmap work?
Every project gets a public roadmap at helpyap.com/roadmap/your-slug where customers can browse what you are building, vote on requests with their email, and submit new requests through a built-in form. No login is required to vote.
Each request carries one of 5 statuses, so customers can see a request move from under review to shipped.
Can I put the help center on my own domain?
Yes, on the Business plan. You add your domain in settings, prove ownership with a TXT record, and once verified your help center serves from your own domain instead of helpyap.com.
Verification status is visible in the dashboard, so you can see whether the DNS record has propagated.
How fast do content changes go live?
Within 60 seconds. Help center and roadmap pages are statically rendered for speed and revalidate on a 60-second cycle, so an edited article or a status change reaches the public page in a minute at most.
You get static-page performance for readers without a publish step or a cache to clear.
faq
Common questions
Where is my HelpYap help center hosted?
At helpyap.com/help/your-slug, hosted and served by HelpYap. On the Business plan you can serve it from your own domain after verifying ownership with a TXT record.
Does the help center content feed the AI agent?
Yes. Help center articles are part of the content the AI answers from and cites, and relevant articles also appear as suggestions inside the chat widget.
How do customers vote on the public roadmap?
By email, with no account required. Customers open helpyap.com/roadmap/your-slug, vote on existing requests, or submit new ones through the request form.
What statuses can a roadmap request have?
Five: under review, planned, in progress, shipped, and declined. Customers see the current status on every published request.
How quickly do article edits appear on the live help center?
Within 60 seconds. The public pages are statically rendered and revalidate every 60 seconds, so edits go live in about a minute with no manual publish step.
